There are numerous excellent golf courses in Kintyre, Caradale golf club is a tricky 9 hole course, 1 minute walk from the cottage. Machrihanish Golf Club, renowned for its spectacular first hole is 21 miles away as is the new Machrihanish Dunes course, both 18 holes, with a further 9 hole course at Machrihanish. In Southend there is a lovely 18 hole course looking over the island of Sanda and Sheep Island. See links page.
As the village is surrounded by Carradale Forest and moorland to one side, and Kilbrannan Sound on the other, there are miles of tracks and paths for the avid walker and cyclist. From a wander down to the mile long sandy bay, or a hike over the Deer Hill, there is something for everyone, with stunning views and an abundance of wildlife.
Five minutes walk from the cottage is Carradale harbour, once a busy fishing port now only a few boats come in, usually the catch is landed in the evening and you may be lucky to get a few langoustines or squat lobsters.
Carradale Point is a picturesque area with the remains of a Roman Fort and is home to the herd of Carradale wild goats. A great interesting afternoon walk, it offers a bounty of wildlife with fantastic views.
The Network Centre is located about a mile from the cottage, it is a Heritage Centre devoted to the story of Carradale, with emphasis on fishing and forestry. It also has a tea-room.

Carradale Forest lies home to Red, Roe, Sikka and Fallow deer with seasonal shoots arranged through the forestry commission.
Westport is 40 minutes away on the West side of Kintyre and it is growing in popularity for surfing. If you have your own gear why not try kite surfing on Carradale bay, excellent on a southerly wind. See Link's page
